Outdoor Kitchen Countertops

Arizona sun is hard on surfaces. Start with the right stone.

01What we do

Outdoor countertops face direct sun, heat, monsoon rain and dust. Material choice matters more here than anywhere indoors.

We fabricate and install countertops for outdoor kitchens and BBQ islands, with cutouts for grills, sinks and side burners fabricated to the equipment you have chosen.

03Material notes

Choose the surface for the setting.

Engineered quartz is generally not for outdoors

Most engineered quartz is not intended for outdoor use. UV exposure can discolor it and heat can damage it. We will steer you toward suitable materials.

Natural stone is the usual choice

Granite and some quartzites are common outdoor choices. Color, finish and sealing affect how a surface handles sun and use.

Dark stone gets hot

Dark surfaces in direct sun can become very hot to the touch. Consider shade and color together.

04How it works

From measurements to installation.

  1. 01 /

    Equipment first

Select grills and appliances so cutouts can be made to their specs.

  2. 02 /

    Base ready

The island structure is built and ready by the responsible contractor before measurement.

  3. 03 /

    Measure + fabricate

We measure the finished base and fabricate the stone with outdoor exposure in mind.

  4. 04 /

    Install

We set the countertops. Gas, electrical and plumbing hookups stay with their trades.

05Questions

Asked before
the first cut.

Can I use quartz for my outdoor kitchen?+

Generally not. Most engineered quartz products are not rated for outdoor use and can fade or discolor in UV. Check the manufacturer's guidance and ask us about alternatives.

Do you build the BBQ island?+

No. We fabricate and install the countertop. The island base, gas, electrical and plumbing are handled by other contractors.

Does outdoor stone need sealing?+

Many natural stones benefit from sealing, but needs vary by stone and finish. We discuss care for the specific slab you choose.
