Countertop Edges + Waterfalls

The edge is the part you touch most. Choose it on purpose.

01

Eased

A squared edge with slightly softened corners. Clean, modern and forgiving to keep clean.

02

Bullnose

A fully or partly rounded edge. Comfortable to lean on and softer at corners, with a more traditional feel.

03

Ogee

A decorative S-shaped profile. It suits classic interiors and takes more fabrication work than simpler edges.

04

Mitered

Two pieces joined at an angle to create the look of a thicker slab, with the pattern wrapping over the edge when matched well.

05

Waterfall

The countertop turns down at the end of an island and continues to the floor. Mitered corners and vein matching make it read as one piece, which requires careful slab planning and additional material.

  • Plan the waterfall before choosing the slab
  • Discuss how veining will wrap the corner
  • Confirm floor and cabinet conditions at the island ends
